Epilepsy can effect the whole family. There are daily challenges that every family member needs to be aware of and know how to handle. How does your family cope and what do you do to make sure every family member is well educated about it?

They make sure what to do while I'm having the seizure. What to tell 911, what my meds are, and the number of either my mom or stepfather.

I like this post as it should resonate with everyone. Personally I haven't had to educate my family, "our" journey, because it is not just mine but everyone in my life are being educated during the ins and outs of dealing with my daily life as being an epileptic. Concern is the biggest I feel family has to deal with that what if? factor but adaptions to our daily lives and also how we deal with our condition helps us to support them to support us. I hope that makes sense, I am tired.

Hi im Andy, my son Thomas was diagnosed with Epilepsy when he was 1, the family didnt know much about epilepsy when he was diagnosed so its been a steep learning curve for us, 5 years later and i run my own Epilepsy website where i discuss my experiences with Thomas and let others tell their own stories.
